Briefs From staff reports Frederica Street auction attracts no bids The 1600 block of Frederica Street will stay residential for the time being. An auction of the eight houses from Phillips Court to 17th Street on the east side of Frederica failed to attract a single bid Thursday afternoon. Although the minimum bid on the property was $1.6 million, auctioneer Gary Maglinger of Century 21 Partners offered to start the bidding at $1.2 million. But there were no takers. "It's expensive property," Maglinger said.

"But it's premium property on Frederica Street. It's worth it." He said he has 60 days left on the listing to try to find a buyer. The property is part of the Phillips Court Historic District.
